The entire storyline of SILO is a vast minefield full of mysterious mystery boxes that the viewer is expected to CRAWL WITH CUTS. The true art and success of installing mystery boxes depends on how much the viewer tolerates the frequency of the mystery boxes being placed and when the mystery boxes are finally opened for the audience. At the core of SILO, the question or main mystery for the audience is: “Why is this community living in a man-made, post-industrial concrete hole in the ground?” The beginning of SILO is interesting.
SILO is primarily a character-driven drama that moves slowly, with some recurring themes
The opening “hook”, the set designs, the acting, the production values, the cinematography are good if the viewer likes the whole understated tone of the dystopian genre. The viewer may find the constant rush of mystery box dumping and the overall slow plot pacing challenging. An Excel spreadsheet can also be helpful in keeping track of mystery boxes within episodes.
